Steinberg ships Groove Agent 3 virtual drummer
New modules, styles, kits and features for Steinberg’s renowned VST drum
software
Hamburg, August 8 2007 – Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH is pleased to
announce that Groove Agent 3 is now shipping to resellers worldwide. Groove
Agent 3 provides new virtual drummer modules, drum kits and a range of other
features to provide a complete and unique virtual drumming solution within one
VST instrument.
“Groove Agent 3 puts musically complex and ultra-realistic drum tracks just a
few clicks away,” states Helge Vogt, Steinberg’s Product Manager for VST
Instruments. “The simplicity of the user interface conceals the technical
complexity behind the new features, making Groove Agent 3 a shining example

New Groove Agent 3 features include:
- Special Agent and Percussion Agent: Adding to the Classic Groove Agent of
previous versions, the two new modules offer ultra-realistic modelling of a real
studio drummer as well as a range of new percussive instruments in a vast
range of styles
- Dual Mode: Any two of the three modules can be combined in a virtual jam
session for more dynamics and variability
- New acoustic kits with an additional assortment of digital drum machines and
percussion
- 42 all-new drum styles: over 120 styles total plus hundreds of percussion
performances, including the more unusual time signatures
- Drum Sample Import: Groove Agent 3 can now utilize almost any drum sound
for its grooves, beats and fills, with separate samples for dry and ambience for
a quick, easy way of creating a virtual drum kit miked up in its own room
- Alternating Hits: alternates samples to avoid repetition of sounds, ensuring
lively, realistic drum rolls and paradiddles
- Auto Fill: intelligently generates fills to help produce dynamic drum backing
tracks for improvisation on other instruments, making Groove Agent 3 ideal for
use as a rehearsal and jamming tool
- A new FX section: a new EQ and compressor, with new presets ready for each
drum component as well as each kit.

Groove Agent 3 is priced at €239.00*. Groove Agent 1 and 2 customers can
upgrade to the new version for €129.00* and €89.00* respectively.
