Waltz in a Hurry

Going away all the time, poor youth,
you are passing by like a smell of a rose,
as a kiss that is flying and getting by,
like a hope from a human's heart.

"To the youth" - Achilleas Paraschos (1838-1895)

OVERALL PRESENTATION IN BRIEF

This simple and "mindless" waltz was composed so that I would have a piece of my own music published in the world wide web and individuals could download it and listen to it in private.

ADDITIONAL INTERESTING ELEMENTS

The following paragraphs are talking about the subject in a higher level of detail :

MUSICOLOGY

Waltz - as a musical species - can have mostly a clear dancing reputation, nevertheless, sometimes can also have a bigger dose of musical "interiority" (for example, just compare waltzes of the Strauss family to those written by Chopin for piano). Anyway, morphological (architectural) features of waltz are clearly those elements that are more constant than others - because these elements give waltz its very designative image among all species that are described by the same musical tempo (in our case : three quarters time). We are talking about such characteristics as tempo, mood, process and development, the climax and the final conclusion. By technical considerations, the accompanist plays a major part in the overall mood desired.

HOW MUSIC WAS BORN

This very piece of music was written in a short piece of time so that I could present it in www.artissimo.gr and each visitor could listen to it freely. So I started working on it one afternoon and tried to get over with it in order to put it in the website the same day (or rather ... the same night :-) ). If so, it would be ready for listening (anyway the conversion to mp3 file was a bit of problematic so I didn't get it working the same day!). Perhaps the title of the piece could be more ... original but it appears I was in a hurry ... :-) The whole story behind is that publishing at least one composition by an individual lets him cooperate with the "AEPI" Company - this company takes care of the greek composers' copyrights.

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The genre is purely classical, without much introversion and internal investigation - is rather quick with frequent "bursts of small ideas". The piano writing is basically simple and easy to follow. The tempo modifications are supporting the presentation of the short but clear-cut ideas. The end has a small tendency to recapitulate things.

WORK MATERIAL

"Waltz in a Hurry" - written in 2003 - for piano solo - lasts just a bit more than 1 minute.

Waltz_in_a_Hurry_by_John_Tzinieris.mp3   (size of 1.068 Kbytes - 128 kbps - standard mp3 format).

Waltz_in_a_Hurry_by_John_Tzinieris_32kbps.mp3   (size of 268 Kbytes - 32 kbps - also standard mp3 format - is ideal for "on-line listening" since the bandwidth of a dial-up internet connection is just appropriate).

APPENDIX : EQUIPMENT - RECORDING

... being prepared ...

Thank you beforehands for your listening! (and for having read all of the preceding text!)

Concerning Microsoft Windows and music composition files : If you use Microsoft Windows you can download the music composition files by just clicking right mouse button and selecting "Save Target As ..." (Microsoft Internet Explorer). To listen to music composition files directly, just click on the music composition file link with the mouse (this won't work if you use programs like Donwload Accelerator Pro etc., since these applications interfere with the system's downloading data processes).

Concerning music composition copyrights : It should be mentioned that you can only listen to this piece of music "in private". This simply means that you cannot use it in public (public execution of the music) or use its corresponding  music material without previously getting a licence from its creator. The same principle applies for all pieces of music that we buy eg. on CDs.
