Music composition definition INTRODUCTION Music theory is full of well-defined and crystal-clear ideas, rules and suggestions. One should study its body for many years to obtain a really good overall picture. However, music practice is another world. While theory can be considered as a "magic box" that is accepting certain data and outputs music material - more particularly, notes and sonic objects - practice is yet another one huge field a musician has to master. From writing down to a piece of paper a couple of sketch notes to composing a symphony comparable to Beethoven's 9th, there are a lot of things for one to learn and generally put his hands on. This new section of Articles, under the name "Workshop", has a dual purpose : to give you some basic elements of theory, and, then, go on with the tough task of putting all those single theoretical parts together into action. Those articles are meant for all kinds of amateur musicians and may even give some interesting ideas to some professionals. Who knows for sure ? Well, you should enjoy it !
