Dear friends and colleagues, I hope to see you in the first or/and the second lecture I am going to give in Amsterdam on the 9th of October 2009 and in Groningen on the 11th of October 2009. The subject is: “Athens State Orchestra; Prehistory and History. A historical flashback from the Ionian School of Music until today”. The lecture in Groningen has been organized in colaboration with the association “Groningen-Greece” and the "Kijk in 't Jathuis". The lectures include many archive photos and audio samples composed by Greek composers. After the lectures a concert will follow, with pieces composed by Dinos Constantinides (b. 1929) and Georgios Kasassoglou (1908-1984). The concerts are in memoriam for the 80th birthday of D. Constantinides and the 25 years after the death of G. Kasassoglou. The program is: D. Constantinides: Lazy Jack and his Fiddle, for solo violin Music for Two Violins (Ned. Prem.) G.
