The pianist giorgos konstantinou presents in athenaeum a music performance of audiovisual correlations titled “fragments”. In a very interesting way the pianist performs compositions by Liszt, Scriabin, Ligeti and Koumendaki which are freely associated to a series of pictures (projected in the same time). These, together, eloquently narrate a story: pictures of ancient artifacts, burial masks and statuettes, are combined with pictures of the universe, from man-made objects sent to space to stars and nebulae. This is an attempt to describe on one hand human activity of the past and on the other hand man’s overwhelming need to leave a trace of his existence thus temporally transcending time and defying his Sisyphean fate.
