"Let's Make an Orchestra!"
Thursday, May 20th, at 10 am & 11:30 am

QSO's game-show themed event for grades K-8 at Queens College - tell your child's principal and teacher to reserve seats for this interactive concert!

The game-show format QSO introduced last spring was such a hit that we decided to create new games using different orchestral works to teach your children about the orchestra. In addition, one of QSO's Young Soloist Competition winners, Alicia Choi, will perform on violin to demonstrate various playing techniques and styles. Seeing her perform may even inspire your children to start studying an instrument themselves!

Tell your child's teacher, parent coordinator or principal to download the YPC Reservation Form, which is due May 4, fill it out completely, and either fax, mail or email it to the QSO Office in order to reserve seats for their classes.

Special Congratulations to 2009 Young Soloist Competition winner Andrew Lowy!

Andrew Lowy has won the principal clarinet position with the North Carolina Symphony.
QSO is proud to have been part of his musical journey.

An exciting conducting debut for QSO Music Director Constantine Kitsopoulos

Constantine Kitsopoulos makes his debut this week with the Russian National Orchestra in concerts March 10th to 13th at the Festival of the Arts Boca in Boca Raton, Florida. The festival's programs, From Russia With Love, feature Mr. Kitsopoulos leading a wide variety of Russian-themed performances including the epic film Alexander Nevsky featuring mezzo-soprano Kelley O'Connor, a program including piano prodigies Conrad Tao and jazz extraordinaire Eldar Djangirov, and the RNO with the principal stars of the American Ballet theater, Irina Dvorovenko and Maxim Beloserkovsky, who will take the stage for a magical closing night of music and dance under the stars.
