What past winners are up to now

Our 2010 Senior Division Winner, cellist Nan-Cheng Chen, is currently studying at the Juilliard School. He is the founding cellist of the New Asia Chamber Music Society. Nan-Cheng Chen's upcoming engagements include the Haydn Concerto in D Major under Maestro Kitsopoulos in our Sat., May 14th Masterworks Concert The Voice, and an evening of international chamber music at Weill Hall.

QSO's 2009 Senior Division Winner, Andrew Lowy, won the position of principal clarinet of the North Carolina Symphony while pursuing graduate studies at the University of Southern California. He previously completed his bachelor's degree at Harvard College, where he studied music and linguistics. Prior orchestral experience includes appearances with the New World Symphony and the Yonkers Philharmonic, and summer fellowships at the Tanglewood Music Center and Music Academy of the West. Mr Lowy performed the Aaron Copland Concerto for Clarinet with QSO in our Oct. 24, 2009 Masterworks Concert The New Salon Music.
