Young Peoples Concert "Holidays around the World"
Teachers have the opportunity to bring their classes to Queens College on Dec. 2, 2010 to experience our orchestra live and in an educational, FUN and interactive format.
Students (K-8) will learn about the winter holidays and music celebrated by cultures across the globe.

"Strings Attached" this Saturday!
QSO & Queens Library present the second season of their new series, Symphony 101. This family-friendly, free educational series features performances by QSO musicians and multi-media presentations by Maestro Kitsopoulos.
Come out this Saturday for the first in our series, Strings Attached. Learn about the string family of the orchestra including violin, viola, cello and bass.

QSO's 2011 Young Soloist Competition
If you or someone you know is ready to compete for cash prizes and an opportunity to perform with the only professional orchestra in Queens, now is your chance! The application for our 2011 Young Soloist Competition is available online (due Dec. 3, 2010).
The competition finalists will compete in a recital for an audience and panel of judges on March 6, 2011 at 4 PM at the Taiwan Center in Flushing, NY. Winners will be announced live! Buy tickets
The 2011 Young Soloist Competition is sponsored in part by Astoria Federal Savings, the Taiwanese American Association of New York, the Taiwan Center, the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College and the Queens Chronicle.
New In-School Residencies
QSO is excited to announce our new in-school residency program. With the generous assistance of City Councilman Eric Ulrich, QSO is going into local schools for 12-week periods to help strengthen and enhance their music programs. This pilot program will be held first at Scholars' Academy and MS 210 this fall, and we intend to expand this program to every district in the borough!
