QSO New Grants Recipient
QSO is proud to report that we are the recipient of two new grants: Open Society Foundations' Performing Arts Recovery Initiative and Meet the Composer's 2010 Commissioning Music/USA program. QSO is honored to be one of the 79 recipients to receive this two-year awarded grant from the Open Society Institute, which is a new initiative from billionaire hedge-fund manager George Soros. We also are excited about the Meet the Composer grant which is earmarked for the commission of a new symphony orchestration entitled "1001 Voices: A Symphony for Queens" to be premiered in the 2011-12 season. QSO was one of 32 selected organizations to commission 19 new works. Stay tuned for more detailed information regarding this incredible new project that QSO is undertaking in the coming year!
