The announcement is repeated below in simple text format : Dear friends,
2010 brought a new collaboration with the wonderful and surprising twin tenors and pianists Duo Fina under the title due e due, which is also the name of our new "quartet". Our first concert took place at the historical hall of the Parnassos Literary Society in Athens, Greece. The program consisted of works for two pianos by Poulenc and Sicilianos, as well as arias, canzonettas and famous songs arranged for two tenors and two pianos by due e due (videos can be found at http://www.duovivo.com/videos--mp3.html).
As you have already been informed from our previous email, on February 27th we will perform Poulenc’s Concerto for 2 pianos and orchestra with the HALLegro Orchestra under Otmar Huber at the Kurhaus in Hall in Tirol, Austria.
Next performances will take place at the Oscar Romero College in Hoorn, Holland during the 16th, 17th and 18th of March. These performances are part of our educational programs which feature this year Saint Saens’s The Carnival of the Animals for two pianos, instrumental ensemble and narrator. On March 18th in the evening we will give a recital for 2 pianos with works by Scriabin, Poulenc, Sicilianos and Milhaud. More information, the program and posters will be emailed to you in a couple of weeks.
After the Easter holidays, we have our first performances in England. On April 17th we'll perform Alfred Schnittke’s Concerto for piano-4 hands and chamber orchestra with the I Maestri Orchestra conducted by Anastasios Strikos at St. John’s Smith Square in London. Following that, on April 21st we will give a Piano Duo Workshop at Concord College in Shrewsbury as well as a recital with works by Brahms, Dvorak and Ravel in the evening for the students. Two days later, on April 23rd we will give a recital with works for piano-4 hands and 2 pianos by Schumann, Brahms, Poulenc and Shostakovich at Dauntsey's School in Wiltshire.
We'd also like to inform you that the work for next year’s educational projects will be The Travelling Musicians, op.104 for piano-4 hands and narrator written especially for such occasions by Greek composer Nickos Harizanos (text by Brothers Grimm).
