Experiences
No, no, I am not hit by the heat (yet :-) ). I was simply happy and ready to go and watch an opera on the video cassette recorder (believe it or not, in Greek language the VCR is called "magnetoscope", but, in general, we use the term "video"), which (all by accident) was Wagner's melodrama "Twilight of the Gods" (rather "grave", I should suggest it only to the fans of the kind - it calls to mind "film noir" movies). However, after I placed the cassette into the recorder, the machine took a break and started to ... think about it ! (yep! my VCR has also a kind of artificial intelligence capability :-) ). After a minute or something, some especially strange (non-musical!) noises were coming out of the machine, and, finally, the tape was thrown out of it in a bad condition ! Even nowadays, I have not concluded whether video cassette recorder dislikes Wagner or something else caused this problem ! However, the revenge of the musical was here : finally, the specific cassette could be played normally and without any problems, because the satanic machine destroyed the part of the tape that was before the opera starts - later, it was proved that recorders should be turned on for a while before trying to play any cassettes on them. The cause is rather the wetness on the machine heads (all happened in the summer - God help us!). Anyway, all's well that ends Wagner's work !
