Information

The source is New Scientist - (http://www.newscientist.com) - Dogs are proved to ... "groove" on classical music better than on any other kind of music ! When they are listening to "calm" classical music they are presenting a better attitude (eg. less barking :-) etc.), while, when they are listening to other kinds of music they are becoming definitely more aggressive. The whole article can be found at http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99992962 . Moreover, the former fact impressed the researcher because she didn't expect it to happen and she thought that the dog would respond in about the same manner to every musical stimulus. My personal opinion is that classical music is much nearer to the "ear physics" (either of the human, or of the dog's ear - which is indeed capable of listening to a wider range of frequencies), or, at least, more close than the rest music genres which are being mentioned in the research, and which almost all of them have been developed in our industrial era, when we have come down to regard certain kinds of noise as "discreet" and "in fashion" (in order to understand my evil text better :-) just have a look at the mentioned article of New Scientist (English language) - or at the corresponding one of www.in.gr (Greek language)) : http://www.in.gr/news/article.asp?lngEntityID=414039&lngDtrID=252 ).
