We have joked enough already, but, while you are sitting inside the ... bath filled with cold water and the temperature is >40 degrees Celsius in the shade, you should also listen to the appropriate kind of music to keep you cool. So, here are my suggestions : regarding Mozart's works, there are some really beautiful piano concertos (you know what I am talking about !) and also vocal excerpts taken from his operas (eg. "The Magic Flute" or "The Marriage of Figaro"), talking about Chopin, his nocturnes are superb, and the waltzes are formidable, about Bach and Beethoven, please let the weather change first ( :-) :-) ), Schumann has written delicious music for the piano ("Scenes from Childhood", "Carnival" = splendid), don't take a very large dose of Debussy (he is actually ... all-weather), don't overdo it with the Russians except for Tchaikovsky-ballets, no Wagner, and, definitely, no twentieth century because is "heavy" (exceptions being Milhaud's piano music, Bernstein's "West Side Story" and, of course, the full production of Gershwin!). Talking about Greek composers, better only Hatzidakis (leave Xenakis, Theodorakis, Skalkotas and Christou for ... the winter). Mentioning of painters, I shall suggest Monet and Manet (totally irrelevant, but, generally, I love impressionism :-) ). Notice : all preceding text talks about suggestions and occasions for someone to listen to quality (that is "fine-crafted") music and not quality comparisons or categorizations (either way, website's humour is better for summer use :-) ).
