Humour
Our old pal, Big Ben, seems to be suffering from heart irregularities lately (just have a look at http://cbs5.com/watercooler/watercooler_story_148093128.html for more information on this). Artissimo.gr just tried to give a solution. So, let's have a look at how our medical team tried to solve the problems of arrhythmia by having Big Ben listening to a number of sonic examples. If Big Ben likes the music that listens to, then, its performance is formidable, otherwise, it is doing rather awful ! FIRST TRY : The first try was based on a good-working clock sound and a motif taken from a Beethoven's symphony. RESULT THEN : Terrible ! Big Ben stopped working for at least one hour ! SECOND TRY : This time the same motif from the same Beethoven's symphony but perhaps a bit more sophisticated : RESULT THEN : Modest ! Big Ben seemed to like it but irregularities just went on. What a pity ! THIRD TRY : This time we decided to try the most famous phrase taken from Beethoven's 9th symphony ! RESULT THEN : Almost miracle ! Big Ben seems relieved now ! But looks as if a small improvement is yet possible ! FOURTH TRY : The same melody in a higher octave. This should be optimal ! RESULT THEN : This is just perfect indeed ! Big Ben is now more accurate than any ultra-precise clock ! We are done ! CONCLUSION : One Beethoven a day, doctor makes away !
