Compact Disc no. 1 Trio 4 parts - total duration of 20 minutes Luscious music, smooth and lightly romantic, gentle but also mysterious - of course rather modern, contemporary and interesting genre (but also with certain tonal references - fewer or more - depending). Often intensive rhythm. And a few genuinely lyric moments (like the composer's songs) - tonal phrases that are sounding familiar. Especially interesting and "easy" flow of his pieces ! Optimal use of the ensemble instruments and perfect matching particularly as presentation and development of his melodies are concerned. Frequently simple phrases are turned into magic displays of a formidable musical world where the instruments are presenting the best of themselves. Sexteto 3 parts - total duration of 20 minutes Mystic - gorgeous atmosphere. Some times complaining politely. The flute is sweetening the expression. Some times is getting sprightly and mincing (not often though). "Interstitial" elegant passages are used as bridges connecting different musical regions. Even with the sextet the composer is building wonderful climaxes. Rhapsody for violoncello and orchestra (9 pieces / 9 Muses) 9 parts - total duration of 30 minutes Orchestration with a soft and distinctive sound. Lyric expression. The cello has a more unobtrusive presence in comparison with classical concertos (like an "orchestra escort" ?!) More tonal than pieces for smaller ensembles. Motifs some times enough insistent. Often there is a Greek melancholic colour diffused in the melody. The brass are used without any exaggerations and relatively calmly. Anyway, not rarely, the inspirations and atmosphere he creates are fantastic ! In the parts where intensive rhythmical element exists the character is totally altered (often is turned into epic). All the conclusions of the parts are very beautiful (quiet - gentle - matching the whole atmosphere). Compact Disc no. 2 Sonatina no. 1 for violin and piano 3 parts - total duration of 10 and a half minutes The violin and the piano are constantly murmuring quietly / impressive phrases / Greek element everywhere. Small Suite 4 parts - total duration of 7 minutes (like) Greek elegant dances. Small atonal bursts. Chaniotikos Syrtos (Round Dance) 1 part - total duration of 5 and a half minutes Interesting idea and sound (variety). Based on the 1st part of the small suite. Melos 12 parts - total duration of 28 minutes Generally more western and romantic sound. Gorgeous melodies. Often there is an improvising character and rhythmical liberties (like a fantasia). Compact Disc no. 3 Preludes for the piano 5 parts - total duration of 18 minutes Calm "classical" sound along with more infrequent opposite bursts. With a certain impressionistic character in some parts. Sonatina for the piano 4 parts - total duration of 12 minutes Based on another composition (the themes) (the sonatina no. 1 for violin and piano - which can be found in 3 compositions!) Again calls to mind the last part of the sonatina no. 1 for violin and piano. Sonatina no. 2 for violin and piano total duration of 30 minutes The sound is particularly Greek (because of the scale as well). Especially demanding for the performers. The sound is pretty advanced (especially for the violin) as also harmony is concerned (soloistic parts exist as well). Very beautiful atmosphere of the composition and "marrying" of the instruments. Passacaglias for 2 pianos 8 parts - total duration of 17 minutes Music tranquil with a mysterious beauty. Wealth of melodic ideas and rhythm. The work is atonal in a significant degree with fewer points of tonal music written in a modern way. Pretty atonal for the composer.
