A bit of Poetry
Here are some of the first words of Faust's self-presentation monologue, in Goethe's Faust (without any further comments) : And, naturally, I am wiser than most of the scholars, Doctors, teachers, clerks and priests, I am not tortured by any doubts or hesitations. I am not afraid of neither the hell nor the devil - That's why any gladness has also been lost for me, I cannot imagine myself being aware of anything correct, I cannot imagine that I can teach anything at all, To bring people to correctness and dissuade them. And I haven't got any property or money, Or honours, or even glories of the world, Not even a dog would like to live like this ... (GREEK SOURCE : "GOETHE'S FAUST" : Translation by I.N. Theodorakopoulos, regular Professor of the University of Athens - "Estia" Bookstore Editions, I.D. Kollaros et al S.A.)
