If one was trying to "discover" the spirit of Eastertide in the music of the "classics" he could say, that, Easter Time sounds most suitable for : Bach, with his inherent religiousness but also the permanent spirituality that describes him, Handel, "elevatory" as well, with interesting musical elements and being relatively near to the musical style of the former, and, also, Haydn, one of the pioneers of the "clear" homophonic style, who is generally characterized by a spirit of honesty, simplicity and directness in his religious works (as well).
