Muzio Clementi (1752-1832)

NATIONALITY

Muzio Clementi (1752-1832) : Muzio Clementi was Italian.

IN GENERAL

Muzio Clementi (1752-1832) : Clementi is one of the interesting figures of his epoch if we throw a good glance at his total work : having existed a piano virtuoso - perhaps the best in his era - Clementi also wrote several masterly compositions (Beethoven himself considered him an appreciable composer) considered for modern piano performance and not for performance on its ancestor, piano-forte, while Clementi also himself manufactured some of the first modern pianos in the factory he had established (as long as this factory was on business). In general, therefore, Clementi gave a materialistic but also artistic impulse in the art of the modern piano which is perceptible even today.

STYLE

Muzio Clementi (1752-1832) : Clementi's synthetic effort presents accent at the compositions for piano, among which his exercises have comfortably survived up to today, having pedagogic character for the learning of piano. The remainder piano compositions are not executed regularly because they have been overshadowed from later masterly compositions for piano written during the classic and romantic period. The same fact applies to the remainder part of Clementi's work - the coexistence of other great composers of the same season with him has certainly downgraded his synthetic work, perhaps even more that should have done so.

WORKS

Muzio Clementi (1752-1832) : Accent in the piano compositions but also presence of symphonic music characterize Clementi's work : Above 100 sonatas for piano and other instruments, "Gradus ad Parnassum" (100 studies for piano), various independent pieces for piano, some symphonies and overtures.
