IN GENERAL Francis Poulenc (1899-1963) : Poulenc is one of the most characteristic personalities of the team of the six ("Les Six") that they expressed for years the tendency of Neoclassicism in France (along with Milhaud, Honegger and three other composers). Poulenc had substantially been self-taught as a composer. The most artistically important part of Poulenc's production are his songs, which contain a lyricism that continues a precious and brilliant heritage.
